Refreshments

The farmhouse restaurant is in a building that used to be a barn, which is where its namesake comes from; Hlaðan (The barn). The menu consists of local products from the farm and its surroundings. Eating at Bjarteyjarsandur is more than just eating great food, it is a food experience, where you are told the story behind the dish you are being served.

At Bjarteyjarsandur, we try to work in a way which promotes an ecological and sustainable way of life. We are respectful of nature and try to minimize the impacts we have on the surrounding environment. We inform our guests and customers about the different values of the area we live in and how to be respectful of them.

NEW ON THE MENU!

The chef´s journey – for groups

A seasonal menu item which puts emphasis on Bjarteyjarsandur products and the surrounding nature and history of the area. The food comes with a story of the typical Icelandic culture behind the item and the local family knowledge on the products.

Price: 7.900 kr.

This meal needs to be ordered at least 5 days in advance and all allergies need to be made clear to us at this time.

All dishes from the menu are originated at Bjarteyjarsandur and the meat included in meals is cut and prepared in the highest possible quality. The emphasis we put into our meals is on pure, healthy, and good food that is locally grown.

The group menu is set up for 15 people or more with the assumption that everybody has the same dish. The price may go up if changes are made or different meals are required. Our menu is not limited to these dishes and we can gladly set up a private menu according to our guest’s needs and wishes.
