At Bjarteyjarsandur autumn is a busy time. We are welcoming our sheep back home from the mountains, but as you might know, Icelandic sheep run free out in the wild during summer time. Last weekend we went with flock of people (friends, relatives and other guests) to the mountains to herd the sheep to the lowlands, and the weekend ended with a round-up of about 7000 sheep!
These days we are working with our sheep flock and tomorrow morning we´ll have specialists coming to our farm to look at our sheep and help us improve our breeding line.
Everyone interested is welcome to come for a visit at Bjarteyjarsandur Farm to see this process live :)
